About Cultural Services

Cultural Diversity Week

Cultural Diversity Week (16-21 March 2009) is a highlight in Victoria's cultural calendar. Celebrations are held throughout the state to recognise our diverse culture.

In the spirit of The Royal Children's Hospital's commitment to valuing cultural diversity we will be holding events and fun activities here at the hospital.

For a full list of events and activities see the RCH Cultural Diversity Week activities program

Cultural Diversity Training Survey

During Cultural Diversity Week the RCH Cultural Diversity Committee will be surveying staff to find out what their cultural training needs are. Results will assist in implementing a training schedule that benefits RCH staff and volunteers.

Staff can access the Cultural Diversity Training Survey online. The survey is open for one week, is confidential and will only take approximately five minutes to complete.

The Cultural Diversity Committee was formed in 2006 with the aim of improving the services and relationship with the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse hospital community.

The Committee aims to:

  • Assist The Royal Children's Hospital to understand and respond to the needs of the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse community
  • Partner with Multicultural and Ethno-Specific Agencies
  • Promote a Culturally Diverse workforce
The Royal Children’s Hospital values diversity amongst patients, family groups and hospital staff
