Pharmacy department information on medicines

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Pharmacy Department also has information leaflets on some medicines that may be prescribed for children. You can get these from your RCH pharmacist or doctor or from the RCH Medicine Information website.  The leaflets do not contain all available information and are to help you understand and discuss your/your child's medicine with your doctor or pharmacist.  See 'What is in the RCH Medicine Information Leaflets?' below.

What is in the RCH Medicine Information leaflets?

  • The leaflets answer some common questions about your/your childs medicine.
  • They do not contain all available information.
  • They do not take the place of talking to your/your childs doctor or pharmacist.
  • The leaflets may differ from information in the manufacturers Consumer Medicine
    Information.
  • The information reflects the usage of medicine under medical supervision by patients of the Royal Childrens Hospital.
  • Medicine may be used in children in different ways or for different reasons than in adults - for more information see the leaflet "Medicines for Children".

If you have any concerns about your/your childs medicine
please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

The leaflets include information current at the time of review of the documents.
