Brian Lilley, BPharm, GradDipHospPharm, MBA, MSHP, ASHP, MPS.
Director of Pharmacy and Operations Manager, Clinical Support Services
Brian's experience at the Royal Children's Hospital and his strong association with the profession, places him in a strong position to provide solid and creative leadership for the pharmacy department whilst continuing to promote innovation, research and development in all aspects of pharmacy services.
His specific responsibilities include management of the goods and services, salaries, budget allocation and projections, and contract negotiation with pharmaceutical wholesalers and. He is also chair of the Medication Safety Committee, Secretary to the Drug Usage Committee, member of the Patient Safety Committee and and member of the RCH Clinical leadership Team.
His particular interest in computerisation has involved him in the implementation of the Merlin pharmacy software package and interfacing it with the Oracle financial application. A major undertaking of Brian's was the management of the successful conduct of a full internal review of pharmacy services under the principles of National Competition Policy.
Brian is an associate editor of The Paediatric Pharmacopoeia, Royal Children's Hospital, an invited contributor to Paediatric Therapeutics; Pharmacology and Drug Information for Nurses (4th Ed), and also he has published papers and book reviews.

Antun Bogovic, BPharm, DipFrontlineManagement, SHPA.
Deputy Director of Pharmacy
Clinical experience in all units of the hospital, especially the Neonatal and Intensive Care Unit, give Antun a good understanding of the issues in paediatric pharmacy. Apart from working at ward level, Antun's work at the hospital has also involved him in a vast array of activities, including service and protocol development and regular presentations to hospital staff, professional groups outside the hospital and parent organisations. At present, the majority of his work time is spent in pharmacy administration - overseeing pharmacy staffing issues and liaising with other hospital departments in regard to service provision and development. Antun is also a member of a number of hospital committees, including the RCH Ethics in Human Research Committee, and the Medication Safety, Adverse Drug Reactions and Infection Control Committees.

Maria Chan, BPharm, MClinPharm, SHPA
Senior Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy Service
Maria completed her pre-registration year at The Royal Children's Hospital in 2001 and stayed on at RCH after her registration, practicing as a fully qualified pharmacist. In 2004, she followed the great Australian tradition and went to work and travel in the UK. Her 2 years working as the PICU and paediatric cardiology pharmacist at the Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital saw Maria develop a keen interest in these areas.
Upon returning to Australia in 2006, Maria was re-employed at RCH and has experience in all areas of the pharmacy department. Her main focus has been in the areas of clinical pharmacy, particularly paediatric cardiology. She completed her Master of Clinical Pharmacy degree in 2008.
In 2009, Maria was appointed as the Senior Clinical Pharmacist. She is responsible for overlooking ward pharmacy services and ward-based protocols, orientating pharmacy staff to clinical ward areas and the continuing professional development of all ward pharmacists.
Maria is a member of the Medication Safety Committee and the Discharge Planning Committee.

Kay Hynes, BPharm, DipClinPharm, SHPA, ARCS, DIA.
Senior Pharmacist, Drug Information and Clinical Trials
After training at the Adelaide Children's Hospital, Kay has gained experience in many areas of hospital pharmacy in Australia and overseas. Until late 1998, Kay held the position of Clinical Trials Manager in the Pharmacy at Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre where she was instrumental in developing and coordinating a nationally recognised Investigational Drugs Service.
Kay's involvement with clinical trials has extended outside the hospital where she has made numerous submissions on behalf of hospital pharmacy to an extensive range of government reviews affecting the practice of clinical trials and ethics committees in Australia. She has been involved with many committees, presented papers and convened seminars in these areas. Her experience in this area is well utilised by the RCH Clinical Drug Trial Subcommittee, of which she is convenor, the RCH Ethics in Human Research Committee and the many staff involved with clinical drug trials in the hospital.
Kay is also a member of the RCH Drug Usage Committee, the Adverse Drug Reaction Committee and responsible for the Drug Information Centre which provides information on paediatric medication and related issues to hospital staff, external health care professionals and the general public.

Tim Griffiths
Senior Pharmacist, Outpatients
Tim brings with him experience from most aspects of pharmacy practice with a strong focus on community pharmacy and primary health-care. Prior to joining the Children's in 2008, Tim's recent experiences included managing a busy community pharmacy in southern coastal New South Wales following a three year period in the United Kingdom at St. Mary's NHS Trust (now Imperial NHS Trust) in London. His time spent in the UK was the catalyst for special interests in information management, formulary development and antimicrobial therapies.
Tim's current role involves managing the everyday functions of the dispensary including all outpatient services, inpatient and ward pharmacist support, as well as important services to intermediate care programs such as Hospital in the Home and pharmacy support for satellite services including adolescent health, mental health and forensic health. Tim is supported by an experienced team of outpatient pharmacists and technicians.

Leith Lilley, BPharm, MClinPharm, MSHP
Business Development Manager
Since completing her training at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Brisbane, Leith has gained valuable clinical experience in all areas of hospital pharmacy. Leith is passionate about paediatric clinical pharmacy and holds a special interest in medication safety and neonatal care. She completed her Masters of Clinical Pharmacy in 2008 and undertook her clinical research project in Paediatric Medication Reconciliation. Leith has been an active member of the Medication Safety, Adverse Drug Reactions and Discharge Planning Committees at The Royal Children's Hospital.
Leith's current role is managing the Pharmacy Business Development Unit which undertakes special projects to enhance paediatric health care. Products managed by the unit include the RCH Pharmacopoeia, the Paediatric Injectable Guidelines and Nappy-Goo®, a nappy rash cream developed by the RCH pharmacy department. Leith is also responsible for organising continuing education for the pharmacy department. A new focus within the business unit will see Leith producing presentations and developing teaching modules for healthcare professionals interested in paediatrics. No doubt, her hands-on experience in being a mum to young Ned will provide lots of practical insights in these endeavors.

Susan Mitchell, BPharm.
Senior Pharmacist, Children's Cancer Centre
Susan manages the oncology satellite pharmacy with responsibilities for clinical pharmacy, clinic dispensing including sterile and non-manufacturing, and outpatient needs. Susan's extensive experience in paediatric pharmacy assists in handling the complications inherent in treating patients of the Children's Cancer Centre.

Carly Nunn, BPharm (Hons)
Clinical Pharmacist, Intern and Student Education Coordinator
Carly coordinates the education and training of pharmacy interns for their 12-month internship prior to initial registration as pharmacists. Carly also coordinates pharmacy student placements throughout the year in conjunction with the Monash University Faculty of Pharmacy, Latrobe University and various interstate universities. Carly also works as a clinical pharmacist on various wards as well as in the dispensary and manufacturing areas.
