No rectal diazepam products are currently marketed in Australia.

Pre-prepared enema-like kits for easy administration of single doses are marketed in some countries including in the USA (e.g. Diastat) and in New Zealand and the UK (e.g. Stesolid).

The pharmacy at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) no longer supplies rectal diazepam kits and has not done so since 2015.

RCH neurologists currently prescribe buccal or intranasal midazolam to children whose parents or carers need access to seizure-stopping medication.
