Call through the RCH switchboard on 9345 5522 and ask for "diabetes sick day service" if you are needing sick day support

See below links to help support you with managing a sick day:

• Missed dose of Lantus/Optisulin
• Wrong dose of insulin has been given
• Managing a vomiting illness
• Guidelines for mini dose glucagon 
• Managing colds/infections 

Pump management: 

• High BGLs/Line failure/ketones  
• Pump failure - pump malfunction and plan for changing to insulin injections 

Call the hospital for advice on 9345 5522 and ask for "diabetes sick day service" if:

• unsure about insulin dose adjustment
• Child is drowsy or lethargic
• Child has 3 vomits, 3 diarrhoea or abdominal pain
• Blood ketones at 1.0 mmol/L or more on injections or if on an insulin pump ketones are 0.6 or more
