At The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), we aim to remove unintended barriers for people with disability and create an accessible and inclusive environment for all candidates and employees. The RCH supports the Victorian Government’s commitment in Every Opportunity: State Disability Plan, which sets a target for disability employment across all Victorian Government departments as 6% by 2020 and 12% by 2025.
To help achieve this outcome, the RCH has developed its own Disability Action Plan (DAP).
We are very proud to release this plan. The DAP is an active planning document that supports our objectives to identify and remove barriers to access for people with disability. A range of actions have been developed within this framework to advance the RCH’s commitment to supporting people with disability and achieving its vision as a GREAT children’s hospital, leading the way.
Our Disability Working Group develops and progresses the success of projects and strategies within the plan, which are focused on improving RCH’s capability in hiring, retaining and promoting people with disability in their workforce as well as creating an accessible and supportive work environment for people with disability.
