Travel Clinic

  • The RCH Travel Clinic is now run once a month.  A/Prof Mike Starr will see patients with chronic conditions (e.g. asplenia, cystic fibrosis, post-transplant, other immunocompromised, etc) who require specialist travel medicine advice.

    A medical referral is required and all patients are bulk-billed.

    For many overseas trips it is worthwhile being seen at least 6 weeks before departure to allow adequate time for the various vaccines to be given and for their effectiveness to develop.

    Children who have returned from overseas and who are unwell, possibly related to travel acquired infection, should be referred to the Infectious Diseases Unit.

    All other Travel Medicine referrals (including staff) can be made to one of the private clinics listed below.
