Your child may require a blood test in the Pathology Collection Department. We are located at desk A6, in Specialist Clinics Reception A - just off Main Street on the Ground floor (Beach).

We understand some children can be apprehensive about blood tests, so our staff can help to reassure and distract them, to make it much less scary experience. We can also use numbing cream to help minimise any pain associated with the test. This cream takes around 50 minutes to take effect, so please ask us at the A6 reception desk when you arrive.

We accept pathology request forms from companies and doctors external to The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).
