You may have been directed to this page to find out more information about a repeat urine (wee) test for your child at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH). Here are some videos to explain why we contacted you.
About urine testing
Have a look at our Urine sample fact sheet for some handy tips on collecting a urine sample in children.
In most cases, the repeat urine (wee) test will be normal. For a small number of children, we may find signs of a kidney disease. Some people can feel very worried or anxious about what this might mean. Here, we are sharing one patient’s journey so you can understand
more.
A patient's story
What do I need to do for my child?
We encourage you to repeat your child’s urine test using the pathology slip we sent you.
The test can be done at the RCH pathology or at your local pathology centre.
Where are my results?
We will be in contact once we receive your child’s urine test results.
If you have access to the My RCH portal, you will be able to see the results there. If you don't have access to the portal, visit our sign up page for more information.
