Mela Harambasic is the Cerebral Palsy Nurse Coordinator at Royal Children's Hospital, a role which involves understanding and coordinating for the needs of Cerebral Palsy patients undergoing complex orthopaedic surgery. She has been a Registered Paediatric Nurse since 1981 and is originally from Bosnia & Herzegovina and has been working with children in Australia since 2000 with a longstanding special interest in children with CP. She has experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and also an Associate Unit Manager prior to joining our Cerebral Palsy team. Mela has worked previously in New Zealand and Yugoslavia.
Mela is responsible for coordination of Cerebral Palsy services within the orthopaedic department and ensures the multidisciplinary assessment of all patients in consultation with patients, families and surgeons though the surgical pathway to rehabilitation.
