    Associate Professor Jocelyn Shand has been a consultant since 2004 and is currently Clinical Lead of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Program in the Plastic and Maxillofacial Unit at The Royal Children’s Hospital, since 2018.  She undertook her OMS training in Melbourne and two years of fellowships in the USA, including Paediatric Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Pittsburgh before returning in Melbourne.  She has been an advocate for the subspecialty of paediatric OMS and has lectured locally & internationally. Jocelyn has published papers & book chapters to promote the importance of, and differences in, the care of paediatric patients whose treatment will often have a life-long impact.

    She has a strong interest in surgical training and is currently the Director of Training for Victorian Training Centre and was the Chair of the Board of Studies, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for 4-years.  She has previously served as the President of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS) and is a member of the ANZAOMS Research & Education Foundation. Jocelyn is currently the Oceania representative on the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
