Jonathan trained as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in New Zealand. He then went on to complete a further three years in craniomaxillofacial surgery plus head and neck subspecialty training. This included a year at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He then went on to complete five months of training in head and neck surgery in Cochin, Southern India.
He is dedicated to making a difference to the patient and family. His passion is paediatric craniomaxillofacial surgery and head and neck surgery. Jonathan was appointed as a full time plastic and reconstructive surgeon at The Royal Children's Hospital in July 2013. In this position he is involved in research, general plastic and reconstructive surgery and craniomaxillofacial surgery. He has a special interest in 3D computer modelling both as a means to plan upcoming complex surgery and as a teaching tool.
He appreciates greatly the opportunity to interact with patients and their families in what can be some very challenging scenarios.
Jonathan is currently Clinical Lead of the Craniofacial Program at The Royal Childrens’ Hospital, Melbourne.
