0.5 ml fluid, 1mm tissue

1ml fluid, 5mm tissue

Testing will only be performed after discussion with Clinical Microbiologist.

Only samples from aseptic sites should be tested.  The presence of more than one type of organism will either result in an unassessable sequence or only the predominant organism being sequenced.

LABORATORY NOTES:

Forward specimens to Bacteriology. Molecular Microbiology to organise sendaway, if required.
