This is an urgent test for in-patients in high acuity areas.

Clinical staff

The online "VCGS Acute Care Genomics Pre-request Form" must be completed.

Send to Specimen Reception immediately following collection.

Laboratory notes:
This is an urgent test.  Phone Acute Care Genomics 0427 164 904 (7days between 7am - 7pm) to advise of receipt of specimen.

Perform data entry and prepare coversheet immediately.  Specimen to be collected from the laboratory by Acute Care Genomics staff.

Note: samples from child and parents may be collected.  Do NOT delay sending the child's sample while waiting for parental samples to be collected.

 Assay Frequency

Upon receipt.

Result TAT - ≤ 5 days from VCGS receipt of sample
