This test is not a NATA accredited test - it is for research purposes only. 

THIS IS A RESTRICTED TEST. APPROVAL MUST BE OBTAINED BY ON-CALL HAEMATOLOGIST PRIOR TO ORDERING (24 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUIRED).

Specimens MUST be taken into a pre-warmed tube, kept at 37oC and immediately deliver to the blood bank. Blood bank to number and process. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE.

LABORTORY NOTES:

Once approval has been obtained, Blood Bank staff will place the 'Cold Agglutinin Kit' in the CSR incubator for 24 hours.

A 'Cold Agglutinin Kit' contains:

9 mL neutral tubes x 2
9mL EDTA tube
2.7mL EDTA tubes x 2
Alcohol swab x 2
Gauze
21g winged infusion set
23g winged infusion set
Multi adaptor x 2
