Random urine samples are unsuitable for testing

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Caution, acid is corrosive. Droplets of concentrated HCl may be present in the container.

Ensure patient / carer understands the risk associated with the acid - use interpreter service if required.

Patient should urinate directly into the acid washed container.

LAB NOTES Do not aliquot the sample. Weigh the container/contents. Send the primary urine bottle to Complex Biochemistry.RCH Out of  hours place the primary container in the Complex Biochemistry fridge (BI-F-018) on the designated shelf. The primary container must NOT be discarded until the result is checked as validated.
