Minimum Volume
1.4 mL x2 - filled to the line OR
3.0mL x1 tube - filled to the line

If Emicizumab Factor VIII inhibitor assay is requested, collect a separate citrate tube.
Comments
Must arrive in laboratory within 1 hr of collection.

MEDICAL NOTES:

This assay is used ONLY for Haemophilia A patients on Emicizumab therapy. Emicizumab interferes with APTT and one-stage Factor assays and may result in a falsely shortened / normal result.

LABORATORY NOTES:

  1. Separate plasma and freeze at -70degC Specimen Reception Send away

  2. Send to testing laboratory on dry ice. Do not pack dry ice in a sealed container. Use appropriate PPE

  3. Store spare aliquot  in -70degC Coagulation Freezer for Emicizumab Correlation
