Random Faeces Sample

Collection Notes:

Random Faeces sample >1 gram - with restrictions as stated below;

• In case of menstrual period, delay the sample collection by 3 days


• Refrain from taking alcohol, asprin or other gastro-irritant medicine, which could provoke bleeding, at least 48 hours before the sample collection.


• In case of bleeding or black faeces, collect a very small quantity of sample (pinhead size).

Sample stability

Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed within 6 hours after collection.

Fresh faeces can be stored up to 6 hours at room temperature or 3 days in the fridge between 4C and 8C.

The human haemoglobin remains stable in these conditions.
