Allocate the same laboratory number to both samples without covering the relative collection intervals written on the tubes. If no fluoride oxalate is received, but there is a serum-gel tube coinciding with the GTT collection times, providing this sample is within appropriate stability time (i.e. must be spun within 3 hrs of collection): Mark the sample as urgent, label with '+GLU', spin and hand deliver to the Core Biochemistry scientist. If the 2hr sample is not received because the test has been cancelled, register request as GTT. An appropriate comment is added to the GTT report.
