Citrate or Serum-Gel

Test performed only in consultation with the Haematologist
Contact RCH Core Laboratory 9345 5822 before collection.
If collecting citrate, fill to line indicated on collection tube.
Must arrive in laboratory within 1 hr of collection.

LAB NOTES
Contact the haematologist on-call when sample is received. Test to be sent out upon authorisation from the haematologist.
Require an absolute minimum volume of 0.5mL of plasma or serum.
Send frozen to external laboratory
Notify Monash Pathology of specimen type (i.e. citrate plasma or serum)

Twice a week (unless urgent)
