Recommended transport/storage conditions

  • Copan eSwab Mini Tip FLOQSwab (orange cap): 2-8oC for 7 days
  • Dry swab: 2-8oC for 3 days
  • Urine: Transport at RT for 24 hours, 2-8oC for 7 days

For Mycoplasma genitalium Nucleic Acid Detection (PCR) same day testing, specimens must arrive by 10:30am Monday – Friday (RCH). Macrolide resistance testing (test code: MGPC1) will be performed on Mycoplasma genitalium detected samples the next day (Monday – Friday).
