Collection Instructions:
Please send original sample in original tube.
Collect 2 stool samples, more than 24 hours apart within 2 weeks

Laboratory Staff:
Request on faecal sample which indicate any of the following should be sent to the WHO Polio Regional Reference Laboratory for polio surveillance:
ADEM, AFP (Acute Flaccid Paralysis), GBS (Guillain Barre Syndrome), Transverse Myelitis, Peripheral neuropathy.
Diagnostic tests for Polio virus should be sent to Molecular Microbiology for Enterovirus Nucleic Acid Detection PCR
