Lithium Heparin or EDTA sample 

WHOLE BLOOD - DO NOT SPIN

 (CONTROL REQUIRED) Fresh blood film.

Clinical Notes:

1. Testing is by appointment only and after consultation with a haematologist.

2. Samples from the infant/child AND both parents are required when possible (Parents if desired  - not required)

LAB NOTES:

1. Collect by appointment only, Monday and Tuesday prior to 12pm and send by overnight courier. Transport at 2-8 dgrees C.

2. Must be received by testing lab (Westmead) within 24hrs of collection (if whole RBC enzyme panel required)

3. Send infant/child samples, parent and normal control.

4. Haematologist to discuss with Special Assay Lab at Westmead (02) 9845 3293

5. Do NOT register control in medipath
