Dedicated EDTA (whole blood) sample.

2.5mL required if last lymphocyte count >0.8 x 10^9/L

5mL required if last lymphocyte count 0.4-0.8 x 10^9/L

Immunopathologist will advise how to proceed if last lymphocyte count < 0.4 x 10^9/L

Collect before 9:00am Monday-Thursday excluding Public Holidays.  Do not collect samples on Fridays or days prior to Public Holidays.

Medical Staff: This test requires discussion with the RCH Immunopathology Consultant or Lab Immunopathology Registrar prior to ordering, who will liaise with St Vincent's Pathology.

Immunology Staff:  Check request has been pre-arranged and if so, register for SAVBETA and send away.

LAB NOTES:  Keep sample at room temperature and courier to St Vincent's Pathology.
